Brick Cracking

Helitec Recently completed corner brick cracking remediation on a maosnry building here in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

The client reached out to us using our contact form. They sent us a few images of the corner brick cracking alongside their contact details. Within 1 day Helitec Structural had sent a free quote and repair detail.

Background of cracking

The cracking had occurred some years ago, likely when the house was first built in the mid-2000s.

The owners first contacted Ground Injection companies who said the cracks were due to subsidence and ground movement and were quoted thousands to have the ground injected only.

The owners were sceptical and felt pressured by these contractors; however, they decided to contact a registered structural engineer.

The structural engineer advised them the brick cracking was due to brick growth and had nothing to do with subsidence.

The structural engineer advised them to contact a structural masonry restoration specialist for the remediation.

When we were contacted, our opinion aligned with the practising structural engineer and we were all too happy to repair the corner cracking using the Helifix masonry ties and stitching as specified alongside brick matching and the careful replacement of all the cracked bricks.

Helitec completed the project in under three days and only cost the client a fraction of what they were initially quoted to fix the corner brick cracking.
